Gawker Artists
I found this web site akin to some of the artistic work I do sometimes with photographs - rebuild something totally different from the actual photo but not losing the character of the original picture. Using this technique can be fun and so creative, though provoking and a beautiful piece of work. Artists are welcome to submit an application to become a part of this site. Specifications are noted as well.

DECK CHAIRS

Graphic "4x5" - At a small theater at Belmont University in 2001,a friend of mine, Ashley, was lead in the play, Deck Chairs. She gave a superb performance. The entire play only consisted of her and another female character. Both were excellent. This is a little graphic I made of Ashley as she was holding a small pooch in her arms.

ETCHINGS of my mind...
TOON II
A CHAT WITH FRIENDS (Thumbnail) Mixed Media Graphic 5" x 7"
Friends come in many shapes, sizes, different backgrounds, proximities and EVEN TOONS. This is a ticket counter for entrance into a theater. Of course, it is apparent the sailor is trying to get his groove on...AND there I stand...CRAMPING his style. Another wax display at the Naval museum in Pensacola.
TOON TIME -

A TIME TO READ (Thumbnail) - Graphic 5" x 7" -
Upon my visit to the Naval museum in Pensacola returning from a trip to Perdido Key, I found these interesting wax displays. Because of my sense of the ridiculous sometimes thought I would share it. Don't you just hate it when A TOON peers over your shoulder.

UNENDING THOUGHTS
WE THREE FRIENDS
WE THREE FRIENDS (Thumbnail) - GRAPHIC 9" x 12" - There comes times in your life where you honestly do meet GOOD people who will always stay a part of your soul no matter what....I say if you can keep ONE good friend, you are so BLESSED and if you can keep TWO, you are SINCERELY BLESSED. (Note: The RED dot respresents the PULSE of the connection)

PINK IS PINK IS PINK
PINK IS PINK (Thumbnail) - WATERCOLOR 9" x 12" - I was in a six week art class back in 1998 and was doodling around with this little flower. The instructor was an awesome female and so personable with the class. It was so easy to like her. After 3 weeks in the class, she went on a trip in California with some other art students, loss her footing while crossing a stream...and died...It devastated the entire class including me...I withdrew....she had a greater effect on me than I had realized....

HER
HER - GRAPHIC 5" x 7" - She is noted for her HAT, her attitude and her style with black skin that glistens in the sun. She is an independent lady, strong, savvy, sensitive and emotional to fair play and "doing the right thing." Many attributes does she behold and an undying desire for PEACE somewhere in this life. Tenacity and persistence are key companions along with a kind heart and soothing presence. This is "HER."

MAXING AND RELAXING
MY SHADOW (Thumbnail) - GRAPHIC 9" X 12" - Perdido Beach in 2004.
MAXING AND RELAXING (Thumbnail) - COLORED PENCIL 9" X 12"
I enjoy drawing forms sitting and laying - provides ample room for detail. The human body is such a perfect structure! I reworked this piece and labeled it "Untitled." I entered it into an art show entitled "Where does it hurt?". To make the drawing in line with the theme, I did weave some gold thread through the piece giving the effect of injury. I use gold thread often in various art pieces.
A HUMBLE ATTEMPT - THE MASTER AND THE STUDENT

A HUMBLE ATTEMPT - THE MASTER AND THE STUDENT - PENCIL 16" x 20" - This is my humblest attempt at a BASIC replication to the original drawing by one of the greatest masters - Leonardo Da Vinci- This is a link to the original drawing done by Leonardo - Neptune and Sea Horses.
SPIRITS IN JOURNEY

SPIRITS IN JOURNEY - Watercolor 9" x 12" - The waterways of Thailand and the spirits who travel the same routes each day as part of the daily living and existence.
